Doctors Learning From Patient Feedback Providing superior patient care is the No. 1 priority of the Rothman Institute. To ensure it delivers, the orthopaedic practice asks for feedback from former patients during a unique hospitality event called a patient focus group. The Rothman Institute held the focus group Nov. 28 at the Moonstruck Restaurant in northeast Philadelphia. Delaware Valley residents who had undergone total knee or hip replacement surgery were invited for lunch and to offer feedback on their experiences as patients of the Rothman Institute. Norman Mazer of Philadelphia appreciated the opportunity to take part in the focus group and share his experience. “It was an excellent idea,” said Mazer, who underwent a total hip replacement this year. “It's very unique that a medical organization would invite patients to get their input on their experiences.” The Rothman Institute will conduct future focus groups and continue to receive feedback from patients in an effort to help the practice enhance patient care and the patient experience.
