Rothman Oversees Care at Philly Marathon

As experts in sports medicine care, the Rothman Institute was privileged to serve as medical directors of the Philadelphia Marathon and title sponsor of the Rothman Institute 8K.

More than 16,000 runners took part in the Nov. 18 full and half marathon, and 8K race. As medical directors and sponsor, the Rothman Institute had speakers present at the Expo and physicians and staff available to runners for any health questions or problems. The Rothman Institute has been the title sponsor of the 8K race for 11 years.

"The Philadelphia Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the country, and we are proud to lend our expertise to runners and be part of it year after year," said Dr. Steven B. Cohen, an orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist.

In addition to competitive, long distance runners, the Rothman Institute sports medicine team sees runners of all ages and competitive levels in the Delaware Valley.
