Dr. Stromwall Recognized for Impact on Female Athletics

Dr. Amy Stromwall of Summit Orthopedics received a “Breaking Barriers” award this month for her positive impact and contributions in providing athletic opportunities for girls and women throughout the Twin Cities area.

Stromwall, an orthopedic physician who specializes in sports medicine, received the award at the Minnesota Girls and Women in Sports Day annual celebration at the State Capitol Rotunda in St. Paul. National Girls and Women in Sports Day honors the achievements and participation of girls and women in sports.

“I’m honored to receive this award alongside many of our community’s finest leaders in women’s and girls’ athletics,” Stromwall said.

At clinics in downtown St. Paul, Eagan and Maplewood, Stromwall sees patients of all ages and competitive levels who have suffered sports– or fitness–related injuries. She has completed advanced fellowship training in sports medicine.

Stromwall is an avid runner and former marathon competitor. Her expertise serves her well as a product tester for Nike running.
