Dr. Amy Stromwall, a sports medicine specialist at Summit Orthopedics, appeared in-studio on KARE-TV last month to discuss running injuries and injury prevention tips relevant to runners of all levels.
Though not a contact sport, running can take a toll on your body like any other athletic activity. Knees, feet, and ankles are particularly susceptible to aches and pain that can slow down or sideline runners, requiring rest and possibly medical treatment.
In the following interview with KARE-TV, Dr. Stromwall offers tips to help runners prevent injury. Whether training for the Twin Cities Marathon in October or an upcoming triathlon, or if you are a casual, less competitive runner, these tips can help you stay healthy.
