Christine Sclafani, P.A.-C., Wows at National Physique Competition

Sports Medicine North physician assistant Christine Sclafani recently competed in regional and national all natural physique competitions, winning the fitness divisions in both competitions.

After receiving her master of science in physician assistant studies from DeSales University in 2006, Sclafani began assisting the doctors at Sports Medicine North by performing physicals, analyzing test results, and assisting in the operating room. For the past two years, she has also trained for and competed in all natural physique competitions. Training includes a strict diet regimen along with three months of cardio and weightlifting six days per week. Sclafani says she enjoys participating in these events because they keep her motivated.

“I’ve always been competitive and enjoyed working out,” Sclafani says. “Competing in fitness competitions provides an outlet for me to continue to work hard toward a goal.”

Sclafani’s background in gymnastics has helped her thrive in the fitness division of the competition, which requires competitors to perform a routine. Sclafani placed first out of 200 competitors for her routine in the regional Fitness New England competition in Foxwood, Connecticut. She then went on to win first place at the Fitness Universe competition in Miami, Florida.

The doctors and staff of Sports Medicine North congratulate Christine on her achievements at these competitions and wish her the best as she prepares for future competitions.
