Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron Provides 60 Backpacks for Area Students

Back to School 2013 is a community-sponsored event aimed at helping low income children in St. Clair County experience a successful start to the school year. This fall, the doctors and staff of Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron provided 60 backpacks, filled with school supplies for the new school year, to children in need.

“We are honored to be able to provide these much-needed school supplies to local children in our community,” says Dr. Todd P. Murphy, sports medicine doctor at Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron. “All of our staff members came together to make this possible.”

The backpacks for elementary and middle school students included a variety of school supplies, while those geared toward pre-school students included books, coloring books, and crayons. The donations collected by Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron, totaling more than $800, provided school supplies and backpacks to three local classrooms.
